Mashed Sweet Potato: A Healthy Recipe for Your Family

Sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, fiber and potassium. This kind of potato is called as a nutritional powerhouse, because they are good for everyone. They are more closely related to white potato and cassava. They taste sweet as their starches turn into sugar after they get matured. How to prepare mashed sweet potato recipe:

Ingredients and tools:

-    Sweet potatoes
-    Butter
-    Vanilla extract
-    Cinnamon
-    Nutmeg
-    Half-and-half
-    Sauce pan
-    Vegetable scrubber
-    Stainless steel potato masher
-    A bowl
-    A spoon

Process:

Scrub and wash the potatoes to remove dirt and per-heat the oven to 350 degree F. Bake the potatoes for one hour. After one hour, take them out and keep them for fifteen minutes. Now, peel and keep them in a bowl. Use your sauce pan to heat the half-and-half until bubbles form around.

Now, it’s time to mash the potatoes and the chunks should be visible.

The final process:

After mashing the potatoes, add another 50% of the half-and-half including butter and start mashing again until it is nearly smooth enough. Now, you should add the rest of the half-and-half and mix it using your spoon until it is thoroughly mixed. Now, you should stir the mixture in the vanilla extract. Finally, arrange the mixture in a serving plate and sprinkle cinnamon or nutmeg, but they are not compulsory.
